I am so happy to present to you the Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda palette because this is something that I took the plunge on a very long time ago, went through a phase of total regret, and then come back out loving!
If you want to know why it did not work for me, and then why it suddenly worked, keep reading!
Sonia Kashuk Concealer Palette in #07 Hidden Agenda
I actually bought this way, way back when the hype on it was not so big, and there were few videos that actually demonstrated its use. I was shopping for Sonia Kashuk brushes on eBay, and I saw this, it looked good in the picture, it was affordable, and so I carted it.
I had no idea how to use such a palette because I am not a concealer person, and I know nothing about mixing colours. All my life, I look for one-off concealers, looking to buy those that match me perfectly, that only required me to blend.
But I bought it anyway. And here is the product!
Available: Sonia Kashuk counters if you are in US, or eBay if you are in the rest of the world. Pricing is subjected to sellers.
Volume: 3.9 g.
Star Properties: Has two concealer shades, one neutraliser and one translucent powder all in one.
Packaging
The Sonia Kashuk packaging is a simple white rim with a huge window through which you can see the product. The palette also has a magnetic closure that is simply awesome!! Love it!
Product
The product shown below has a light concealer shade on the top left, a dark one on the top right, a yellow corrector on the bottom left and a setting powder on the bottom right.
How I Use This
I originally hated this product because I didn't know how to use it. I kept on using the light concealer colour on my dark circles, and then I had reversed panda eyes. Then I tried to use the dark concealer shade to darken the light concealer shade, and I had too dark a shade. Next, I tried to use just the yellow corrector, and I had yellow circles. So I totally hated this palette, kept it aside, and did not touch it for a long, long while.
One day, I went to do a bit of research, and I suddenly decided that I needed to mix the colours. So I tried various combination of mixing, and finally found the one that is best for my skin tone!
~~~~~~~~~~ For light medium WARM skin, NC 25 - NC 30 ~~~~~~~~~~
First, I put the yellow corrector on my inner under eye, and outer corner, where there is darkness.
Second, I mix the light concealer with the dark concealer, using MORE light concealer in the mixture, and I apply that over the yellow corrector with patting motion. I also pull a bit of the light concealer into my inner corners of the eyes, and slightly up into the eyelids.
Be careful not to apply concealer on your eyelids as that would make your eyeshadow crease later. I normally use M.A.C Soft Ochre Paintpot to cover the discolouration on my eyelids because that does not crease.
Last, I use a small powder brush to pat the translucent powder all over my under eye areas.
I LOVE the powder because that is brightening despite being translucent.
~~~~~~~~~~ For light/dark COOL skin ~~~~~~~~~~
If you have cool skin tone, then you'd probably want to start with the top two concealer shades. The lighter one is probably more suitable for NW20 and below, and the darker one is more suitable for NW 30 and above. If you are in between, then you need to mix the two shades.
Swatches
On my warm medium skin, this is what the 3 shades look like and also the powder.
The two concealer shades are really too pink for me, whereas the yellow corrector IS actually foundation shade! When blended in, the yellow one is the one that disappears on me, while the pink shades appear white one me.
Application
Pigmentation, Finish, and Wear
The finish that this concealer palette gives is amazing! It cover every bit of my very dark under eye circles, and it stays put ALL day long. It is so light, while it does still show my fine lines, it does not accentuate my fine lines.
Until now, I have not found a product that actually fills in and erase my under eye fine lines. Many of the foundations, be it powder or liquid, and many loose powders and concealers all sink right in, and make my fine lines more obvious. But this Sonia Kashuk one does not. It does not fill up my lines, but it does not sink it and magnify the lines. So I am really, really happy with this.
And below is the before and after for this concealer. There is definitely quite a lot of difference (though not perfect).

Cons
There are two cons that I can think of regarding this palette.
First, I find it hard to mix an exact shade everyday that will not magnify my pimples. So I basically do not use this to conceal pimples at all. I think the formula is also way to heavy for pimples, and I always end up highlighting my pimples instead of concealing them.
Second, it is troublesome to keep this absolutely hygienic day in and day out. For makeup artistes, they definitely need to use a spatula to scoop out all the products. But for personal use, (you can see that) I use my fingers.
Word of Caution
You do need to let this concealer warm up before blending.
I normally swirl my finger in the product about 5-10 counts before patting it onto my under eye. Then, I will leave the product to warm further on my under eye, and go ahead to do the other eye. I will then go back to my first eye and blend, then back again to the other eye to finish up the job.
Affordability
I think the biggest thumbs up for this Hidden Agenda Palette is the fact that it is so affordable. I do own the YSL Touche Eclat (which is supposed to be nothing more than a highlighter, not a concealer), the Bobbi Brown Corrector and Concealer Duo, but I still think the Sonia Kashuk is the one. It does the job for the price.
Get it! 4.8/5.
You do need to learn to use this palette, and if you are too light, or too dark, I don't think this will suit. But otherwise, this is just perfect. <3 p="">3>
