Ghaur has manipulated Attuma into attacking America, but the march to the surface world seems to be taking a while. Iron Man and Namor the Sub-Mariner appear to have turned the initial wave (pun intended) of troops, but at the cost of Namor's life. Now, though, we take a brief interlude as we cover some tie-in tales...

First, a back-up feature in Iron Man Annual #10. At a Los Angeles bar, customers comment on the TV news coverage of Iron Man's fight with the invading Lemurian forces. The clientele, which seems to be made up of super-villains including Half-Face, a Space-Phantom, Inoshiro Kondo, KGB agent Irina Tarasova, Blizzard, Blacklash and Beetle. Obviously, they all hate him. One woman stands up for Iron Man for stopping her from committing suicide. Iron Man himself comes in to order a club soda and all the villains scarper.
This story may or may not be in-continuity as it seems to be more of an opportunity to run a series of pin-ups from classic Iron Man artists as a story. And Iron Man's more likely to have gone straight to the Avengers to report on Namor's demise, rather than stopping at a seedy bar for a club soda. Plus, a bar seems like a bad place for recovering alcoholic Tony Stark to be, even if it's to order a club soda. But hey! It's up to you...
Las Vegas casino owner Michael Berengetti sends his enforcer, Mister Fixit (secretly the grey-skinned, but still-incredible Hulk) to pick up a 50 grand debt from the gambling-addicted owner of sea park Marlinworld in San Diego. Jonas Marlin tries to convince Mr Fixit to allow him to pay the rest of his debt by investing in Marlinworld.
Shandu the Killer Whale, the park's main attraction, eats his trainer during a performance, then makes a move for the crowd. As he leaps, Fixit grabs the whale and beats him into submission, then tosses him out to sea where he unwittingly hits Krang's sub and destroys the device that caused the whale to go crazy. Mister Fixit sees the departing Atlanteans and wonders what he's missed...
Back in Iron Man Annual #10, Andromeda returns to Atlantis days after Namor's death and is reunited with her friend and ally, Colonel Dakkor, who updates her on Attuma's latest plans for revenge against the surface world.
Here we learn for the first time that Andromeda is Attuma's daughter. She confronts him directly, but is forced to retreat. With the help of Dakkor and his band of rebels, she plans to put an end to her father's mad rule once and for all. She might want to start by not trying to swim in heels...
A handful of the Atlanteans who fought Iron Man and the Sub-Mariner in Panama have taken a wrong turn and ended up in Baja, Mexico. One-time West Coast Avengers candidate Firebird shows up and convinces them (a little aggressively for a pacifist) of the error of their ways. Once they'd successfully invaded the surface-world, what would they do?
Instead, she leads them back to the open sea and convinces them to retire to the Tahiti.
